Who are we?
Ed and Sandy Smith are the proud owners of Arctic Edge Samoyeds and longtime proprietors of House of Ivy in Elwood, Indiana — a well-known local business they have operated for many years with dedication, integrity, and a commitment to excellence.
Their deep respect for animals, nature, and community shows in everything they do. What began as a love for the Samoyed’s joyful spirit grew into a lifelong passion for preserving and improving this remarkable breed. With years of experience and mentorship under the guidance of Judi Elford of Vanderbilt Samoyeds, Ed and Sandy have built Arctic Edge on a foundation of ethics, health, and genuine care.
They adhere closely to the AKC and Samoyed Club of America standards and codes of ethics, placing the well-being of every dog above all else. Each Arctic Edge Samoyed is raised in their home as part of the family, receiving the same attention and affection that have long defined their approach to both business and life.
At the heart of Arctic Edge Samoyeds is a promise — to breed responsibly, honestly, and with purpose, producing Samoyeds that are as sound in mind and body as they are beautiful to behold. Through dedication, transparency, and the ongoing support of their mentors and peers, Ed and Sandy continue to earn the trust of families who share their love for the breed.
